What Top Gun Actually Means.

Top Gun is reserved for drivers who demonstrate natural car control, awareness, and confidence on track regardless of age or previous experience.

It's not about lap times, aggression, or bravado. It's about how you drove the car.

Our Flag Marshals and Team Leaders are all part of Anglo Australian Motorsport, our championship-winning Formula Ford race team. Throughout your session, they monitor how drivers adapt to the car, build rhythm and consistency, and manage inputs and decision-making.

You stood out.

Not for being reckless but for driving the car properly.

Car Control

Natural feel for grip, weight transfer, and mechanical feedback. The foundation of real racecraft.

Awareness

Reading the circuit ahead, anticipating braking zones, and making clean decisions under pressure.

Consistency

Building rhythm across a session. The benchmark our race engineers use to measure real potential.

The Natural Next Step.

This is where many Top Gun drivers stop reacting to the car and start planning the lap. The Amaroo South Circuit is 1.8km with 13 corners deliberately designed to reward precision over aggression.

1.8km Track

Twice the track length of Stage 1. More corners, more elevation, more to learn.

13 Challenging Corners

Each session becomes a learning loop, improvement felt corner by corner, not just lap by lap.

5 x Events Per Year

Limited dates mean limited availability. Top Gun drivers tend to book higher lap options.

Introducing: Brendan Fisher

One driver who followed this exact path is Brendan Fisher. Brendan started with Stage 1, received Top Gun recognition, and then stepped into Stage 2. From there, he continued building seat time, confidence, and control eventually progressing through Stage 3 > Advanced Test Day formats and into competitive racing.

50+ Years of Heritage.

Formula Ford has over 50 years of heritage in Australia, and there's a reason it remains one of the most respected development categories in the country.

It is a tightly regulated series where results are driven by driver ability, not who spends the most. The natural next step for many drivers after karting, and one of the best platforms to learn proper racecraft.

Many professional drivers credit Formula Ford as the place where they truly learned how to race, not just how to drive fast.
